The Holy Grace Presbyterian Church Kuantan is a very established place of worship among Presbyterian Christians in the town of Kuantan, Pahang. It is actually the only church in South East Asia which is carried out in Hainanese language.
The Holy Grace Presbyterian Church Kuantan has been around for more than 90 years now and comes under the organization of The Presbyterian Church in Singapore. The church started out back in 1922 when the upstairs of a shop house in Hainan Street 1 was rented by several Christians to carry out their worship sessions. This small group of Godly Christians carried out their faith and very soon, the membership grew in size. That was how the Holy Grace Presbyterian Church was formed.
It would then become the Prinsep Street Presbyterian Church before being called the Straits Christian Hainanese Preaching Station and then it was changed to the Christian Hainanese Preaching Station later before the name was changed again to the Chinese Christian Church.
It was only in 1957 that the church became the Holy Grace Presbyterian Church and then moved to the Upper East Coast Road where it remains to present day. The church would then grow with many more services with the Kuantan holding its sixth Hainanese service. Today, the Holy Grace Presbyterian Church remains a significant church that offers Hainanese people a place to carry out their faith with Sunday worship sessions and Sunday School classes for the young ones.
